Well, I do live in Dublin, so I should expect a lot of rain really.
This morning I slept in. I have had a couple of late nights this week, so, I slept till noon. I don't have a particularly taxing work life as I have chosen a path that means that I earn enough money to get buy comfortably. So any real fatigue is a result of how I look after myself with respect of day to day choices.
After getting out of bed, I didn't really feel hungry or particularly thirsty, so I had an organic apple just so that I had something good in my stomach to start the day off.
Now I had planned to get up early, shower, dress do my hair so that I look a little more "relaxed day off" than "yup I just got up", but as it's raining, I think the furthest that I will be going is round the corner to get some fruit to juice with. I wanted to make some foccacia for my other half, so I set the yeast into action and went out to get some odds and ends.
With everything I had in the house, I did plan to make myself a green juice with spinach and pineapple. As I was doing stuff about the house, I kept putting that off. Before I knew it, the time was 3 in the afternoon, and I was proper hungry. So I glugged about 1L of water while I was making my juice. When I went to my fruit bowl, there were two mangoes that were just perfectly ripe, so I picked them instead.
Spinach through the juicer, no problem. Mango flesh through the juicer, not such a good idea. The flesh was so juicy and ripe, it came out all mushy. So I blended the mango with the spinach juice. That was a juice well made. That whole litre went down a treat.
Let me tell you about my juicing. I know that a lot of people make smoothies with a nice high power blender, I have a juicer instead, and that works for me for the moment. I have a fairly sturdy centrifugal juicer, which in hindsight wasn't the best choice, but it's MUCH better than relying on prepacked juices, that are dead and will not help you live.
For dinner I had a grated celeriac salad with tomatoes and a red pepper, I dressed it with the last of the tomato dressing from yesterday some olive oil and apple cider vinegar. I had some pineapple, orange and apple juice with that which was also really good.
All in all, a very good raw day. I think the only thing I had that wasn't raw was the olive oil and a tiny piece of the foccacia that I cooked. Well I had to try it seeing as I had gone to all that trouble, it was very nice indeed.
