I started this blog for a number of reasons. Mostly because I want some sort of record of how I eat, and how that works for me.
Initially my goals are not weight driven, although, being obese, getting rid of some weight would be a bonus. My goal is to be healthier. Several of my family suffer with various health problems, and for a while I have avoided some of these. Over time, a bad diet and taking no care of my body has taken it's toll. I have started getting sciatic pain on an almost daily basis, I have acute bouts of intense debilitating back pain and of course with many people who eat refined anything occasional depression.
I have been a vegetairan 20 years, and a vegan less than 6 months. So overall I am not doing too bad, ecologically I am mking a difference.
I now refuse to be that unhappy blob that a lot of people are consigned to be by their diet and thus I have turned to raw foods. There is so much junk food that you can eat as a vegetarian and as a vegan. I want a diet that will support me feeling alive in my body. It seems that raw food is the way for me.
